New Jersey Consulting Company Fined for H1B Violations

The Department of Labor (DOL) has cited Peri Software Solutions, a software consulting company in New Jersey for violation of labor and H1B laws, as reported by DOL on February 18.
An investigation by the Department of Labor found that Peri Software had withheld over $1.4 million in back wages that are owned to its’ employees. The investigation also found that Peri Software paid lower than average wages to its H1B consultants. This is a direct violation of H1B laws. The law states that H1B workers must be paid the same wage rates that are paid to U.S. workers for the same work performed in the same geographical location. DOL also uncovered that Peri Software forced its’ employees to sign employment contracts and then sued the employees when the contracts were broken.

Department of Labor has fined Peri Software a $439,000 fine for its’ violations. The company may also be barred from participating in the H1B program for two years.
In 2009, United State Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had arrested 11 H1B consultants and taken legal action against another New Jersey software company for H1B violations.

So the company is fined $439K for stealing $1.4 Million and “may” be barred from doing H-1B for 2 years. How about you fine them $2 million dollars and bar them forever. Or even better completely eliminate the H-1B program as it’s only purpose is to allow companies to hire “Cheap” foreign labor and put Americans out of work.
you mean cheap but talented, eager, multicultural, intellectual foreign labor–a key component of this country’s innovation drive and economic growth for 2.5 centuries??? Look back a couple of generations and realize where your folks came from. That could help your understanding.
Valentin Sierra – Remember we are actually doing a favor to your damned country which has lots of useless people and can’t think beyond burgers and Pepsi and let every single company cheat you and who the hell is cheap you cheapsters! Can never live in peace with anyone. Don’t you talk as if we are deprived of thing. We have come from one of the rich and finest country for your information and never in your life time can you assholes achieve that. Its just that we are humble and don’t show off. Just imagine we out of your country – you guys will be doomed and all will be in Hell . So just shut your a*se and stay calm.
Hi,
Recently one of my friend who is an H1B Employee was asked strange questions by DOL people such as did your employer took back the wages paid to you – he was confused and said Yes ( I don’t know why he did so!!) then within 10 days he was deported back to China.
Do you have any questions asked by these DOL people? Normally if some one calls from DOL or ICE you get shaken and caught by their over dose of attitide questions I believe.
Any help will be greatly appreciated on how to handle these unexpected questions?

Remo1: You are simply stating a fake claim. They never DEPORT The victim. If any thing they will take action against the consulting firm. The consultanst is a VICTIM and not the one causing any thing wrong.
I think you work/own a consulting firm and are spreading false rumors so that no one ever complains against fake consulting firms.
