10 Schools that do not Require the GRE – Computer Science

Computer Science is a very popular subject for graduate international students. Most graduate schools require students to take the GRE before they are admitted into the Computer Science program. There are, however, a handful of schools that waive the GRE requirement for admission. This does not necessarily mean that these schools are of a lower quality, or that they do poorly in the rankings; its just that the GRE score does not factor in their admission criteria.

Here is a list of ten schools where GRE scores aren’t a big criteria for admission; although many of them strongly recommend that applicant submit GRE scores.

  • University of Texas
  • South Dakota State University
  • Carnegie Mellon University: The Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT)
  • Oklahoma State University
  • Saint Mary’s University : Master in Information Technology Management
  • ST. Thomas University
  • University of Wisconsin-La Crosse: Master of Software Engineering (MSE)
  • Penn State University – Harrisburg
  • New Mexico State University
  • Rensselaer Polytechnic University
