Email From an Indian IT Consulting Firm
By Scholarship for USA on Feb 11, 2009 with Comments 6
This post is a follow up from my previous post titled “The Truth About Indian IT Consulting Firms Revealed“. In that post I wrote about the tactics that Indian IT consulting firms employ to recruit and place international students in IT jobs.
In this post I am going to share an email from an IT firm that I receive every week. The drill goes something like this. The firm calls me on my cell phone. I have their number saved, so I know its them and I ignore the call. The person on the other end then leaves me a long voice mail, the gist of which is that I am an excellent candidate for an IT job with that firm. Almost immediately, I get an email in my inbox detailing the exact same things on the voicemail.
On two separate occasions I took the phone call and told them that I wasn’t interested in their offer and to take my name off their calling list. The recruiter apologized and said that they would never call me again. They started calling again the following Monday.
So here is a copy of the email that they send me. I have blackened out any identifiable information so as to avoid any legal issues. Notice in the email how they promise to place you in “US Fortune 500 companies” and how they are ready to take in “Graduates in any stream”.
Did you get similar unsolicited emails like this. Share your thoughts in the comments below.

If your resume is out there in Mosnter, Dice, it will land in the hands of IT consulting firms. Usually for It most of the emails or jobs you will get is from desi IT consulting firms.
It might sound bit odd, but there are schools where after completing Masters students don’t even look for Full time jobs, they join IT consulting firm. that has got a lot to do with exposure from seniors.
Email sender’s name is “Rajiv Naidu”. 90% of these consulting companies are Andhra guys. All Osmania university bastards. These guys have spoilt the name of entire nation.
Even with 10 years of US experience these Andhra guys pronounce “G” and “Z” similarly. And their dress code will be of a Andhra film star even if they go to moon.
One of my friend joined one of the company liek above, then after one year recently this company gone trhough H1B DOL audit. During audit DOL people called my friend and other employees and asked them multiple questiuons starting from how he gets paid?how much? since when he was working? then in the stream of questions they also asked if he gets paid in between the projects? He said yes, then he asked did your employer took the money back after paying , my friend by mistake he said yes and afetr that few questions and he took down his address, contact no. and within 10 days he was deported reasoning that his H1B is canceled since he obtained his H1B with material breach or some thing like that…
Please throw some light on some of the questions these DOL people and how to answer them without effecting your status – obviously telling that I got my payroll ran to comply with H1B wages and paid the monies back to employer seems to lead to immediate deportation…
